8/29 Application for Free and Reduced meals due. Parents may obtain application in the DSA main office or apply/renew through the district’s website. Families must re-qualify each year.

9/3 Picture Day – All student take photos for student ID. Grades 8-11 year book photo. Smile and look your best! To purchase picture packet, return payment in Lifetouch envelope.
Reminders and updates
Infinite Campus: Please be patient as we are transition to the new student information system “Infinite Campus.” Teachers are working diligently to enter grades accurately from the start. While you may not see many grades right how, more will be entered shortly as staff grow more familiar with the system. Also, remember, students have only seen teachers 5 times in the past two weeks. See the flyer sent home on Friday or visit the district’s website for assistance.
Cell phones should be off and out of sight during the day unless being used with teacher permission for instructional purposes.
Latest time to check out a student is 2:45. This protects the instructional time for all students at the end of the day. Please plan accordingly.

PSAT: Students in 8th and 9th grade students can sign up for the PSAT in Oct pay $15 fee by Sept 19. Cash or check (payable to DSA), turn in to the front office. See information sent home with your student.

Please join the ELPC to hear the facts about the Druid Hills Charter Cluster. The Charter petition will probably be reconsidered by the Dekalb School Board in September. The City of Atlanta is considering annexing the Historic Druid Hills neighborhood, which would have major consequences for Dekalb County Schools. Because this issue impacts ALL Dekalb students it is important for parents to be informed. Please plan to attend the meeting.
