Reminders

Please do not call or text your child during school hours. This is becoming a problem and interfering with instruction. If a child is sick, they should come to the front office to call parents and be monitored for safety. If an item is being delivered to the office for a student, we will get it to them when it does not interrupt instruction. Do not call or text the student to come to the office. We ask that you consider the instructional environment and respect the need to protect instruction time. Students will not be called out of class for messages or “just to chat”. Emergency situations will require administrative approval. We will deliver messages when it does not interrupt instruction. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

SPA DANCE coming soon!

Roundtable Discussion: Superintendent Search

What Qualities Does Our Next Superintendent Need to Succeed in DCSD?

Wednesday, October 15, 2014
Fernbank Elementary @ Avondale Middle School
3131 Old Rockbridge Rd, Avondale Estates, GA
9:00AM to 10:15AM
(Refreshments at 8:45AM)

Join ELPC in a roundtable discussion about the search for our next Superintendent. What will the next Superintendent of DCSD need to succeed? Information gathered at this meeting will be given to the BOE Search Committee to help guide them in their work.

ELPC is seeking input into topics for our November 19th Meeting! We are trying to decide between 2 topics: 1) The college admissions process or 2) standardized testing in DCSD (including the transition to the Georgia Milestones). Email ELPC and tell us what you want to talk about!
