Updates and Reminders

Parents – please take a moment to complete the Georgia School Climate Survey. This information will be used to assist the school in monitoring and supporting all aspects of the DSA program. Your participation is greatly appreciated.

The on-line stakeholder link for the DCSD Superintendent Search is still active. Visit www.DeKalb.k12.ga.us to take the survey.

Donations of kleenex tissue are always welcome during the school year. You can count the donation as part of you parent volunteer hours!

On Tuesday, DSA students in grades 8-11 will receive a print-out of their course selections for the 2015-2016 school year. Please review the course selection form carefully to make sure we have entered the core academic classes, world language tracking, and major/minor courses correctly. Sign and return the form to DSA by Friday, February 20 (even if there are no corrections). As this is the first time we are scheduling students in Infinite Campus, we appreciate the opportunity to have another “set of eyes” to review course selections before the master schedule is built. Please note – this report is NOT a schedule – only a list of classes a student is taking next year.

Be on the look out for opportunities to assist with New Student Auditions. Visit Volunteer Spot this week to sign-up.

If you are using Dr. Crossing’s Edmodo page, the access code has changed. Visit your Parent Portal in Infinite Campus for the latest code.

DCSD information

PROACT Search and the DeKalb County School District are in the process of preparing the background information and documentation for the search, including a formal position profile and application. Part of this process involves an extensive, in-depth period of stakeholder engagement. Please feel free to participate in this process through an online survey.

You may access the link through either of the two links below. It is available in multiple languages on both websites. Please share this information with any other stakeholders and encourage them to share their thoughts.
