Bravos!

Congratulations to Ms. Beth Williams, DSA social studies teacher, who was selected by her peers as DSA’s 2015 Teacher of the Year. Ms. Williams has taught at DSA for 9 years. This is her second time winning this distinction at DSA. Mr. Jeremy Landes, social studies, and Mr. Dean Williams, dance, were the other two nominees.

Mr. Randall Franks, campus security, was selected as DSA’s support personnel of the year (ESPOTY). He has been with DSA for 13 years.

DSA was named in 3 categories for AP Honors schools: Challenge (schools with enrollments below 900 and students test in 4 core areas), Access and Support (30% of exams taken by those students identifying as African American and/or Hispanic and 30% of all exam schore 3 or higher), and Merit (20% of population take AP exams and 50% of those scoring 4 or higher). Sixteen of the 22 high schools in DCSD received at least one recognition for the College Board for AP Honors.
