Meeting called to order at 6:08 PM
Vice President Anna Blitz welcomed everyone and provided updates:
- Enrichment Fund did not raise as much money as expected. Donations are still being accepted to off-set school needs for the year.
- PTSA board reviewed department grant requests. Unfortunately, the requests amounts equaled double the PTSA budget. Treasurer Rosa Ray will be in touch with teachers regarding status and if more information is needed.
- Preview Weekend is scheduled for September 29 – October 1. Please sign up to receive volunteer hours.
- GA PTA requires all local PTA membership to approve by-laws. This request was put to the general membership and approved. 2017-Georgia_PTA_Local_Bylaws
Treasurer Rosa Ray gave her report and went over the line items for the 2017-2018 School Year. There was a motion to approve the budget and the budget was approved. FY17 Budget Corrected
Ms. McCauley gave her Principal’s Report and walked through the curriculum night 2017(2) presentation.
Allyson Gevertz reported from the school board meeting. The board has agreed to further research and obtain community/stakeholder input before moving forward with the K-12 Comprehensive Arts School plan. There is a community meeting scheduled for September 30 at DESA. All are welcomed. Many thanks to Allyson and Walker Scott on their work on this.
