Staffing Update
Mr. Cale Golden, ELA/Creative Writing, has accepted a position with the College Board. His last day at DSA will be Sept. 12. He has been an incredible member of the DSA staff for 12 years – he will be missed.
Dr. Jacinta Hightower, DSA Bookkeeper, has received a promotion to position at the district offices. She has been a vital member of our school team for 8 years.
We wish both Mr. Golden and Dr. Hightower all the best in their future endeavors. As they are both experts in their fields, a true replacement will be hard to find. Please wish them well on their journeys beyond DSA.
Reminders and updates
Cell phones should be off and out of site during the day unless being used with teacher permission for instructional purposes.
Check-out: Latest time to check out a student is 2:45. This protects the instructional time for all students at the end of the day. Please plan accordingly.
PSAT: Students in 8th and 9th grade may sign up for the PSAT Oct 15 pay $15 fee by Sept 19. Cash or check (payable to DSA), turn in to the front office. See information sent home with your student.
When a student returns to school after an absence, please have him/her submit their excuse to the front office. Teachers are not able to mark excused absences. An admit slip will allow students to gather missed work. Thank you!
NEW: Infinite Campus Parent Portal
DCSD’s new student management information system is here.
What is it? A Campus Portal which will allow parents the opportunity to be engaged in their child(ren)’s education through direct access to grades, assignments, and teachers.

Looking for a volunteer opportunity?
Mrs. Hill, DSA’s teacher/librarian, would welcome parents to serve on the DSA Media Center Committee. If you are interested, please email Mrs. Hill.
