Covid Guidance — Mask wearing is optional in all DCSD buildings, facilities, buses, and school transportation. Students and staff are strongly encouraged to wear masks. Individuals who present with symptoms, test positive, or are exposed to someone with COVID-19 should follow DCSD protocols and consistently and correctly wear masks to protect others as well as themselves. Volunteering — see FAQs in Parents & Students drop-down menu.

The support of our DSA family community is critical to DSA’s success. Every donated item, hour, or dollar is a donation to support our students. In past years, PTSA asked each family to work/donate 20 hours a semester, and we tracked donations of time and goods/services as part of the community commitment to helping our kids excel. During the pandemic, volunteer tracking was paused, along with so much else. With the promise of this new school year and all the ways we can once again support our kids, we will begin tracking again. When you work an event, donate $$, or donate items, please take 2 minutes and use this link to track those things: https://forms.gle/9WFVucthV5LWeEAu6

Why is this done? We can report on the volunteerism of our families when we submit grant proposals, request support from regional/state PTSA, and show prospective families how strong our community is. Every time you engage with the school, you can log it in the tracker – attended a PTSA meeting? Chaperoned an event? Dropped off cookies for a bake sale? Worked a Scenery Saturday? It all counts, and it all matters. Thank you to everyone for helping to keep DSA vibrant for our kids and teachers! Contact dsa.ptsa.volunteers@gmail.com (Melissa) with any questions.
