♪ Great news for Advanced Placement Students!!!! On February 11,  the DCSD Board of Education approved funding for one Advance Placement exam for each AP student. If a student is on free/reduced lunch, the Georgia DOE is still paying for one test and then the district will pay for an additional test if the student is taking 2 or more classes/exams. This funding will afford more access and equity for a more complete “AP Experience” for our students. We appreciate all the families who met the February 15 payment deadline. During this upcoming week, Mrs. Sanders will revise payment amounts for each AP student and develop a procedure for refunds of fees as needed. We will need a little bit of your patience in order to recalculate each student’s fees and provided needed updates.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!!

JAZZ BAND NEEDS VOLUNTEERS…..

Jazz Band has a performance on Thursday, February 21st.

The event is the Awards Banquet for the Atlanta chapter of 21st Century Leaders.  They are honoring some of the area’s best young people.
Our group of 15 students will perform at the Crowne Plaza Ravinia (4355 Ashford Dunwoody Rd NE, Atlanta GA 30346) near Perimeter Mall from 6:00 to 7:15.  We will need to load the instruments and equipment no later than 4:00 (because of rush hour traffic), and we will leave the school at 4:15 or as soon thereafter as possible.  We will return to DSA by 8:15.
If you are free Thursday afternoon/evening (3:45 to 8:15ish) and can drive several students-especially those parents with large vehicles-we would greatly appreciate your help with this task.  Volunteers can call Dr. Bell’s home phone number (404-417-0079) and I will get in touch with you within 24 hours to answer your questions and confirm your assignment.
Thank you in advance.  DSA parents provide us with awesome support!
